Service & Teaching

Lead Instructor — CACA Summer Camp (11th grade)

I designed and taught a week-long argumentative-writing course from scratch for 35 students in grades 4 through 8, walking them through claims, evidence, source credibility, and oral argument — and then read and graded all 35 of their final papers.

TA & Co-Instructor — CACA Summer Camp (9th grade)

Two summers earlier, I put in over 100 service hours at the same camp, creating and teaching original lessons on Chinese history and baking for students ages 8 to 11 across a two-week program.

Volunteer Teaching Assistant — International Ballet Academy (9th–10th grade)

Every week I assisted a class of ten dancers ages 3 to 6, and for the annual showcase I co-choreographed their piece and coordinated the costumes and props that carried them onto a stage in front of 400 people.

FCCLA Meal-Prep Team (9th–10th grade)

Over nine monthly sessions, I cooked more than 130 meals for a local homeless shelter — always preparing an extra batch to cut food waste and to cover the weeks when other volunteers couldn't make it.

President's Volunteer Service Award — Gold Level (9th grade)

Recognition for the hours above, awarded at the national Gold level.
